THE INDUSTRY
Growing Demand in a Thriving Industry
According to the National Institute of Deafness and Other Communication Disorders (NIDCD), approximately 37.5 million adults in the US report some degree of hearing loss. Alternatively, there are only about 10,000 clinics that dispense hearing aids. The need for hearing healthcare is growing; around 10,000 Baby Boomers turn 65 everyday and hearing loss is a top concern for this population. The global statistics reports indicated that in 2020, there were 466 million people with hearing loss and by 2050, there will be more than 900 million people with loss.
The North American hearing aid market experienced 41% growth in 2021 and is expected to expand with the rising need. According to Fortune Business Insights, the 2021 North American market size was $3.66 billion. The industry projected growth is to $5.86 billion by 2029.

Hearing is Key to a Healthy Lifestyle
Those with hearing loss, who do not wear hearing instruments, are more likely to experience depression, fatigue, are at a higher risk for falls and significant cognitive decline. Use of appropriately fit hearing devices has shown to improve quality of life and can mitigate some of the negative consequences associated with untreated hearing loss.
Hearing aids are remarkably sophisticated devices that are available in virtually invisible styles. Several models integrate AI technology and Bluetooth streaming. In addition, some instruments include health and movement tracking features, language translation, pair to phones for use control and “find my device” capabilities.
